Viral linking strategies

Tired of spending 12 hours a day looking for reciprocal links? Instead flex your creative muscle and build links naturally while relaxing.

The idea is to get people to add a link to your site without any reciprocal link and without you asking them. So how exactly does this work? The basic idea is to create a viral element within your site. This viral element could be practically anything from a picture to a video or more.

Here is an example: a search engine optimizing company adding a useful webmaster tool to their site. Perhaps it analyses the keyword density of your site. Because this tool really is useful, other webmasters are going to link to it. These one way links send a nice stream of PR to your site site.

Here is another example. Search "vending machines" in Google. Notice that the first three sites are not commercial vending machine sites. Quite unusual as it seems that we need to go to page two to find non-commercial sites now of days. The first page that shows up is about unusual japanese vending machines. Lets analyze the viral nature of this site.

First, the content is unusual. Vending machines that sell eggs? toilet paper? used panties? Your friend has got to see this! How convenient, just click "send" next to each vending machine to send an e-mail postcard to a friend. Maybe they have a website too.

See how this works? Web users want to see the weird and unusual. This is not easy because, lets face it, a lot of them have seen it all -- from beheading videos to goatse.

So its time to get creative. Wikipedia articles just aren't going to cut it here. Give the readers want the want, and the traffic and PR will come.

If you want to be even more effective in this strategy make the viral content related to the keywords you are going for. Your main page may not get #1, but a sub page will and that might be all you need.

Good luck!
